Dr. Peter Kass, M.D., M.Ed., is an accomplished psychiatrist specializing in Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatry. He believes that mental health challenges are more than just symptoms or diagnoses—they reflect the deep connection between mind, body, and spirit. Dr. Kass helps individuals unlock their innate capacity for healing through holistic, personalized care that fosters emotional well-being, self-awareness, and resilience. Clients often describe feeling more grounded, clear, and empowered to live with purpose after working with him.
Taking a whole-person approach, Dr. Kass develops treatment plans that align emotional, physical, and psychological goals to support lasting fulfillment. His integrative method blends personalized medication management, talk therapy, lifestyle coaching, nutritional and supplement guidance, and mindfulness-based strategies to promote growth on every level.Dr. Kass especially enjoys working with high-performing adults and professionals seeking deeper emotional insight and renewed motivation, as well as with adolescents and young adults navigating the transition toward independence and early adulthood. He also has advanced training and experience in psychedelic therapies and offers ketamine-assisted therapy to established adult clients (ages 21+), integrating this modality to deepen insight and accelerate healing.
Dr. Kass attended Pomona College, where he excelled both academically and athletically, playing varsity basketball while majoring in neuroscience. Following his undergraduate studies, he joined Teach For America, where he immersed himself in teaching high school science and coaching varsity basketball in downtown Los Angeles. Concurrently, he pursued a Master of Urban Education at Loyola Marymount University. Driven by a passion for mental health and education, Dr. Kass transitioned to medical school at UC-San Diego School of Medicine, graduating to pursue his Adult Psychiatry Residency at UC-San Francisco. His dedication to comprehensive care led him to further specialize in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry through a fellowship at the University of California, San Diego, and Rady Children's Hospital. Deepening his expertise, Dr. Kass completed a rigorous two-year psychodynamic psychotherapy training program at the San Francisco Center for Psychoanalysis.
