Dr. Kass attended Pomona College, where he excelled both academically and athletically, playing varsity basketball while majoring in neuroscience. Following his undergraduate studies, he joined Teach For America, where he immersed himself in teaching high school science and coaching varsity basketball in downtown Los Angeles. Concurrently, he pursued a Master of Urban Education at Loyola Marymount University. Driven by a passion for mental health and education, Dr. Kass transitioned to medical school at UC-San Diego School of Medicine, graduating to pursue his Adult Psychiatry Residency at UC-San Francisco. His dedication to comprehensive care led him to further specialize in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry through a fellowship at the University of California, San Diego, and Rady Children's Hospital. Deepening his expertise, Dr. Kass completed a rigorous two-year psychodynamic psychotherapy training program at the San Francisco Center for Psychoanalysis.
